Avonreach Academy and Pershore Civic Society Citizenship Awards 2023

The 2023 results are in, and the awards have been presented by Pershore Civic Society Chairman Michael Hodges and Avonreach Academy CEO Phil Hanson to students who have demonstrated outstanding citizenship! This year’s winners are featured in the accompanying gallery of photographs. Book Tokens and Certificates have been awarded for a huge range of activities in an out of school. These acts of kindness have inspired teachers and fellow pupils alike.

Achievements include: being a role model; kindness; the establishment of a wildlife pond; library duties; making and selling bracelets for the Red Cross; starting a litter-picking club; participating in Pony Club; being in a pantomime; raising £900 for Cancer Research; adopting a penguin, a tiger and an otter; working in a community garden; undertaking a sponsored swim for Diabetes research; supporting younger learners in Food Science; helping with football training………and many, many other acts that might not necessarily otherwise have been recognised in other ways.

Pershore Civic Society Chairman Michael Hodges says: “It is humbling to meet young folk in the Pershore area who have such a diverse range of interests in and out of school hours. It is a real privilege to be able to support Avonreach teachers and staff as they recognise and reward these many acts of kindness demonstrated by their students.”
